Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Previous editions: Hazenbos 2003: 46-48.

As observed by Hazenbos (2003: 46), this fragment is exceptional insofar as the obverse contains a typical description of seasonal festivals, whereas the text on the reverse is very different from the usual content of these inventories. It cannot be ruled out that this fragment belongs to a Sammeltafel. King Tudḫaliya is mentioned in obv. 8′. A fragment of the colophon (or of an archival remark) is preserved on the left edge, but the interpretation is uncertain.
